Summit & Sage provides two distinct categories of services:

1. Therapy provided by a licensed clinical social worker.

2. Coaching and consulting which are not clinical services and are not governed by HIPAA.

These terms help clarify the boundaries, responsibilities, and expectations associated with the use of this website.

1. Purpose of This Website

The purpose of this website is to provide information about Summit & Sage services, philosophy, and resources. The website is not a substitute for therapy, clinical assessment, or individualized professional guidance.

No information on this site creates a therapist-client or coach-client relationship.
These relationships are formed only after a formal agreement has been completed.

2. Not Medical or Clinical Advice

The content on this website, including articles, resources, and downloads, is for general educational and informational purposes.

It is not intended to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any mental health condition.

Nothing on this site:

• constitutes clinical advice

• creates a therapeutic relationship

• replaces the judgment of a licensed professional

• should be used as a substitute for therapy

3. Therapy Services

Therapy is available only to clients who:

1. Are physically located in California at the time of service, and

2. Have completed all required intake and consent documents.

Telehealth therapy follows California law, and all clinical communication must occur through the secure, HIPAA-compliant pathways listed on the Contact Page.

Summit & Sage does not currently provide therapy to residents outside of California.
Therapy in Colorado will become available once Colorado licensure is approved.

4. Coaching and Consulting Services

Coaching and consulting are not therapy and should not be used as a replacement for therapy.
These services:

• are not clinical

• are not mental health treatment

• are not governed by HIPAA

• use standard professional confidentiality rather than clinical confidentiality

• are available nationwide

Engaging in coaching or consulting does not create a therapeutic relationship.

5. Client Responsibilities

By using this website or requesting services, you agree that you:

• will provide accurate information

• will use the correct contact pathway for the type of service you are requesting

• understand the difference between therapy, coaching, and consulting

• are responsible for determining whether coaching or consulting meet your needs

• will not use coaching or consulting to seek clinical or emergency advice

Summit & Sage reserves the right to refer inquiries to more appropriate services when needed.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, frameworks, and original concepts, is the property of Summit & Sage unless otherwise noted. This includes:

Submitting a form or sending an email does not establish a therapist-client or coach-client relationship.
A formal agreement must be completed for services to begin.

Therapy inquiries must use the HIPAA-secure therapy email.
Coaching and consulting inquiries must use the business contact pathway.

Summit & Sage is not responsible for disclosures made through incorrect contact channels.

This website may link to third-party sites. Summit & Sage is not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices of those sites.

9. Limitation of Liability

You agree that Summit & Sage, including its owner and representatives, is not liable for:

• your use or misuse of information on this site

• decisions you make based on website content

• outcomes that result from coaching or consulting

• interruptions, errors, or website availability issues

10. No Guarantee of Outcomes

Summit & Sage does not guarantee specific results from therapy, coaching, or consulting services.
Progress depends on many factors, including personal effort, circumstances, and readiness for change.

11. Termination of Services

Summit & Sage reserves the right to decline or discontinue services if:

• services are not clinically appropriate

• boundaries are not respected

• payment agreements are not met

• ethical or legal obligations require termination or referral
